July favourites 2015

I'm so excited for this month's favourites! I know it's cheesy and not very original, but it's really nice to just talk about the stuff I've been loving a little bit more than my other products this month. But I don't want to overwhelm you with anticipation, so let's get into it!

An elixir for your lips

Let's talk nudes. And glosses. Two things that I never really loved in the past. But I was gifted this Color Elixir in the shade (720) Nude Illusion  by Maybelline and got to try it out. It's been hyped up in the past, so I was quite excited to put them to the test.

True smokey eyes

You may know that I love TheBalm. I mean, they are a good quality brand with cute, vintage-inspired packaging. And you should know I'm a sucker for packaging. So when they came out with this extremely cute - in a matchbox-themed package - Smoke Balm palette, it seemed like a great palette to take with me when I go travelling because it's so compact and has just three good looking shades I could use for a lot of different looks.

Clinique Lip Pops

I recently treated myself to these two bad boys. I passed my exams and was a bit emotional - not too much detail here - but I thought some retail therapy would do the trick. So I bought two of Clinique's fairly recent Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer in the shades Grape Pop as recommended by the awesome Anouchka) and Cola Pop.

Time to set these undereyes!

I'm sure I'm not the only one in search for the Perfect One. The perfect foundation, the perfect mascara - the latter driving me crazy. But I really apply this search on every single step of my makeup routine. So when I finally decided that my undereye area wasn't happy with just plain face powder to be set with, I decided to try out this High Definition Undereye Setting Powder from e.l.f.'s Studio line.

New (but old) eye palette love

There are so many products that I've been using for ages! I kinda feel the need to talk about them and since I've been using them for so long, these reviews will be honest and complete. I think I've given them a long enough run to really get all the details to you.
Today, it's going to be all about the MUA Matte Palette, a lovely palette for all my fellow matte and neutral eye lovers - though I'm venturing out lately!

The most delicious smelling Setting Spray

Again, a review of a product that supposedly prolongs the wear of your makeup and keeps oils at bay: the Red Orange Makeup Finish (matte type) by Skinfood. Skinfood is a korean beauty brand and as you may or may not know (or think), asian - but especially korean - makeup and skincare is of a whole other level. They are the inventors of BB creams and cushion foundation - something LancĂ´me now has released as a 'new innovation'. Enough chit chat though, let's get talking about this wonderful product.

A Drugstore Eyeprimer

Summertime - that time when I just want to stay inside, hide from the sun and become a true hermit. Though I'm trying to change my ways, I still can't stand any form of heat so I resolutely end up as a sweaty mess when the temperatures rise higher than 20°C... This all means I end up with an oily face - though this situation has changed things drastically since I've been taking my acne-fighting medication!
Anyhow! I wanted to talk about this great eyeprimer I've been using to keep my oily eyelids at bay; the City Proof 24 HR Eye Primer by NYC.

A princess and a Bad Gal

I think it's about time I'd update you guys about two mascaras I've been trying out lately. I've been using them for some months and finally think I can give an honest, grounded opinion.
The ones I'll be talking about are on the opposite ends of the price-scale, one being 'very drugstore' - Lash Princess Fals Lash Mascara by Essence - and one 'quite high-end' - BADgal lash Volumizing Mascara by Benefit.

An eyeliner/serum combination?

If you know me, you know that I'm an eyeliner addict. Well, I've actually cut down on it lately because I had some serious watery-eye-action going on, but that situation seems to get better now. Back in the eyeliner game, yay! I decided to try out this Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum - what a name! Though usual a black eyeliner kind of gal, I thought I'd pick up a brown one (Deep Brown) for a change and I'm not mad I did!
