Ah - my first luxury powder. Okay, it may be a sample, but it's luxury nontheless! And yes, I didn't remove the sticker because - secretely - I love seeing that little Lancôme flower when I open up this small compact. It makes me feel special. Now, let's not get too caught up in the super-duper superficial stuff en get to the actual content.

This is the Belle de Teint powder by Lancôme in the shade (01) Belle de Rose, which looks quite pink in the compact, something that made me take a step back when I first looked at it. After some time I just bit the bullet and decided to just give it a go. Guess what. It was the perfect shade for me.

This powder has an extremely soft feeling when you swatch it. Almost like stroking a little pomeranian puppy. So when you apply this powder, it feels like your rubbing your face against a soft puppy belly. OK. Maybe that's not the best description. But it is really soft. Just. Trust me on this one. It's not scratchy at all.

After application, my skin feels very soft as well. But I think I made my point with that. It's also very lightweight and I don't feel like I get very oily while wearing this. And that's something that happens rather quickly with me. The finish is beautiful as well. Matte yet glowy. It looks like you've got a great skin day whilst wearing this. Other products go on this great as well. so triple yay for that!

When looking at how it wore, again, I really can't say anything bad about it. It wore beautifully and - like I said, kept my oils at bay. I could easily wear it a full day without feeling greasy and 'uncovered'. I really recommend this powder if you want to venture in the world of luxury powders. This was, for me, a great first taste.

Have you any powder recommendations for me? I'd love to try some more great ones. It doesn't necessarily have to be a luxury one, I'm still down to try out a lot more drugstore. Because well. I can try out more ;D

I've got a concealer for you today. Concealer is a product that is near and dear to my heart seeing I've always 'struggled' with redness on my cheecks. Since I've discovered it's benefits, I've never set a foot backwards and always apply it quite liberally. It's just a crucial step to get that blank canvas so I can but on my other face product. A red blush, for instance - oh, the irony.
Enough chitter-chatter though, let's talk about the Radiance Reveal Concealer by Bourjois

I mainly picked this concealer up because I hadn't heard of it before. The radiance factor ofcourse also sucked me in. And it smelled like fresh cucumber. I got it in the shade (01) Ivory and that's a good match for me to use with a highlighting function as well.
The applicator is a classic doe-foot, nothing special, but works fine. It distributes product evenly, so you don't end up with one undereye that's super-corrected and only not-so-corrected.

As you can see, the coverage is OK, but not really full on, heavy duty. It's enough to conceal my redness after I've already applied foundation though, so I didn't mind. It also didn't feel heavy because of this.

I don't know if it's an oil-free formula - it's neither confirmed or rejected on their site - and that's something I need because of my oily skin. It is really hydrating because of the hyaluronic acid that's inside, so if you suffer from a dry undereye area, this is a good option. I liked it for that zone, but when it comes to my cheecks, forehead and nose, it's too hydrating and it ends up making my oils peek through faster. It hasn't breaken me out though, which is good.

I do love to wear this though because it gives a very flawless, glowy finish to the skin, but maybe not on days when I have/want to wear it for a longer period of time. Not because it's not longlasting, but because of the problem I described above.

One downside I found after a while - which I thought of as a positive at the beginning - was that smell. It's refreshing and nice, but it's unusual for a makeup product in my eyes. I always think it has gone bad when I smell it, even though it doesn't really smell foul! But if you think you're not as paranoid as me, that won't be a problem.

All in all, this is a rather good concealer. Maybe not as suited for my skintype, but if your skin is more on the dry side and you're looking foor a great undereye concealer (or anywhere else), you might really enjoy this one!

Yay! Another foundation! And there are more to come because I've been hoarding some! (That rhyme action though...)
Today it's going to be all about the European version of the Infallible 24H Matte foundation by L'oréal. This one has been in my collection for quite some time now so I think it's time I tell you my thoughts about it.

I got this foundation in the (lightest) shade (in Belgium at least) 11 Vanilla and as you can see, it's pretty light! It's a very good match for me and as you can see in the pictures above, it has great coverage too. I didn't have to put on layer after layer to cover my redness and the need for concealer decreases as well with this foundation! It doesn't completely cover my dark undereyes, but I've got some bad ones so that's not the biggest surprise.

Now, this is a matte foundation, so it's suited for my skin type (= oily). Having said this, I was very pleased by how it performed during the day by keeping the oil at bay. Ofcourse at the end of the day I got a bit more shiny, but not in an uncomfortable, I feel like a greasy mess way.

It's also not too matte, so it doesn't look like you've put on a foundation-mask or went for a 100 layers of foundation kind of deal. It looks - somewhat - natural and just very flawless.

My other products - powder, bronzer, blush... - go over it very smoothly and stay visible for a long time, but wear off a bit at the end of the day. The foundation itself wears great, but I don't think it would get to that 24 hours mark. But I don't think that's necessary. It stays on my face for as long as I need it to and personally think is a healthy duration for makeup wear.

This has been one of my most used foundations the past few months, so it's safe to say it's a thumbs up from me!

Have you used this foundation and did it perform as well with your skin-type?

Be sure to stick around if you're interested in more foundation reviews! I got some coming your way in the near future ^^

No, not a Nails Of The Night for this one, because it's so much more than just a nail polish. It deserves it's own post. I visited New York this summer and ofcourse I picked up way to many goodies. Including The System by Formula X, which I completed with the shade Exquisite of their The Colors nailpolishes. These were hyped some time ago, but now I finally got my hands on them and I'm not afraid to share my thoughts!

First off, Exquisite is a beautiful shade. A darker mauvey pink. And isn't that just - almost - everyone's favourite? It's easy to wear, goes with almost everything, yet is more interesting than a simple nude. I mean. I love it. And I think it would suite everyone.

About the system itself now. The first step is the Nail Cleanser. This is something little me has never used before. And was a bit hesistant about. It's a base 'product' that removes oil from your nails so you end up with a longer lasting manicure.
I got pretty ragged nails, so I'm a bit hesistant about this step, but I don't feel like it destroys my nails. It may actually help the lasting power of the product, something I struggle with a lot with nail polishes. It smells nice though, aside from the overpowering alcoholic scent. After you apply it you get a fresh, cucumbery smell - maybe because it contains cucumber extract.

The second step is the Base Coat (Prime). In it's conatiner it looks pink, yes, but on the nails it's just a see-through basecout. I'll say it now though; the brushes of this system aren't my favourite. They're old-school nail polish brushes - just plain and round and not very big. It's a bit more fiddly to get a nice even coat and it takes longer too, compared to bigger and flatter brushes.
Having said that, the formula of this basecoat is nice and thin, so this way it kind of makes up for that. You don't tend to overload this way.

Step number three is the The Colors Nail Polish by choice. The one I got has a nice opacity and I apply two layers of it, though you could get away with one. Sometimes I'm just too careful in the first round and end up putting on too little.

Then, the fourth and final step is the Top Coat (Shine), which is more goopy compared to the others, but I actually like that about it. I like my top coats goopy. Is that weird? It does apply a bit thicker because of it, but then again, it's a good shell to protect every layer underneath. It dries fairly quickly and likes pretty shiny as well!

All in all, I like this nifty system. It also stays put longer than my average 'manicures', and that's something when you look at my nails. The only real downside is that the brushes are so darn small. Maybe I'm spoiled with all the fabulous brushes on the market these days, but hey, it is what it is.

Have you tried this formula before? And do you maybe have some nail treatment recommendations for me so I can take some more care of my poor nails?
To stay in the 'oldies' theme, I thought I'd talk about a foundation-concealer combo I was intrigued by for a long time before picking it up. I remember swatching this foundation when it first came out - before I was truly a makeup crazy - and thinking that it felt very. Special. Now it doesn't feel as special as back then - I've gotten too used to these different consistensies - but when I saw Maybelline had an offer, I had to pick up their Superstay Better Skin foundation and the Superstay 24H Concealer.
I got the foundation is the shade 005) Light Beige and the concealer in the shade Ivory. I have to say, I was surprised by how good they match my fair skin. I can wear this shade in the winter and don't feel like I'm a yellow muppet. Yay!

bare faced - foundation - foundation and concealer

As you can see in both pictures, there's some amazing coverage going on. I've got red cheecks - they've gotten better, trust me - and already after the foundation there's not much to notice anymore. When I top it off with concealer I look like the pale ice queen I've always wanted to be. So a plus for coverage.

Packaging: The foundation has a sturdy glass bottle with a pump. Nothing too fancy but very functional. The concealer has a rather large doe-foot applicator, which is nice for a quick application but isn't too precise. I cover large parst of my face though (my cheecks) with concealer, so that's a plus for me.

When using these products combined, it does provide for some good staying power. I'm not convinced that it would stay put for the full 24 hours, but I wore it a full day when I had a lot of errand to run and it still looked good at the end of the day. Ofcourse I set it with a powder because I'm an oily mess, but no powder touch-up was needed.

Speaking of my oil-levels, neither contain oil and won't break you out. And they also claim that the skin texture and appearance will better over time when used frequently. Now, I haven't been consistent enough in wearing this foundation to say anything about it, but I can say that it hasn't irritated my oh so sensitive skin.

Back to the wear. Like I said, combined they perform well. I have used this concealer on top of another foundation and wel... That wasn't pleasant. I started breaking up almost immediatly and looked blotchy, made my pores look enormous and it didn't keep the oil at bay at all. If you're interested in these products, buy both or only the foundation I'd suggest. I don't know why, but that concealer only adheres to it's corresponding foundation.

Have you tried this and had the same experience? Or is it my concealer who doesn't like change?

I come to you with a product that's not a new release, but hey, why leave out products just because they aren't brand-spankin' new? I think they deserve some love to. Or at least be fairly reviewed and/or criticised. Anyway. It's all about the Maybelline Color Drama lip crayons today.

top: (310) Berry Much - bottom: (410) Fab Orange

The two shades I have sticking around in my collection are (310) Berry Much - a beautiful light berry, eggplant (strange combo) shade - and (410) Fab Orange - an orangey red that's sure to give you a bold look. I have to see that Fab Orange is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I love both shades anyways! But I'll always be more of a berry kind of girl.

First off, I like the fact that it's a bigger crayon, but not too big so I still get enough precision out of it. Those chubby sticks who were 'all the rage' some time ago just didn't really convince me because they are just... bulgy. And that's coming from someone who doesn't have thin lips. I can't imagine their pain.

Apart from their size, the formula also adds up to the ease of application. It's very smooth so it doesn't drag over your lips. It's easy to get a highly pigmented and neat pout! There's a scent when you apply it, but I like it. It's a bit. Grapey. It's not overpowering at all and just a nice extra touch.

After application, it 'dries' down to a comfortable, semi-matte finish. There's a lot of transfer at the beginning though, so keep that in mind. but if you blot after you've applied it, there's a lot less and you can easily drink some water. It isn't resistant to a lot more though and you'll have to re-apply after eating a meal.

I do like these lip crayons, but still they aren't what I reach for on an everyday basis. They are a bit bold for going to school and for a night out they're just not long lasting enough. But if you like a bolder lip for everyday, want something a bit more moisturising and don't mind a touch-up now and again, I can see you getting along with these.
I'm once again bringing you a gem from the drugstore.Essence always brings a slight - maybe creepy smile when all alone in the drugstore - smile to my face when discovering new to me products, but that have actually been in their line for quite a while. Or maybe not. I don't really remember/study all the releases on the market. The new ones, ofcourse. But anyway. I picked up these Gel Eye Pencil Waterproof a while back, so keep reading if you want to know my thoughts about this formula

(01) Black Daze - (04) Blue Lagoon

The shades I picked up are (01) Black Daze and (04) Blue Lagoon. I got interested because I wanted a new black eyeliner for my upper waterline and then saw this beautiful blue, mermaid shade. Safe to say I got both and was very much pleased with my affordable new purchases.

As you can see by the swatches above, they apply very smoothly and pigmented. These are one-pass swatches as well. I always expect waterproof formulas to be dryer and harsher to apply, but these babes really impressed me.

Now. About the staying power. I propose we first watch this next picture, taken after I ran water over the swatches and vigorously rubbed them.

I call that waterproof. Let's be honest. Unless you're in a terrible rainstorm and start rubbing your eyes, these are staying put.
When talking from experience, this black liner stayed present in my waterline for a long time. Ofcourse not as impressive as the swatches, but that's a very moist area and I have yet to find an eyeliner that stays put a full day. A long day.
What really impressed me as well was that it didn't transfer to my lower waterline after it had set. Since I like putting a brighter/nude shade there that's, well, rather convenient.

It's also safe to say that when I used Blue Lagoon underneath my lower lashline, it also stayed put a full day.

So... Do I like this? Ow yes. It's the best drugstore liner I've used so far. I even prefer it to my Urban Decay Naked 24/7 Glide-on Double-ended Eye Pencil. Not only is it much more affordable, but it performs better and does what it's supposed to do.

Have you tried this formula? Or do you have any recommendations that will blow my socks off?

Even though we finally - kinda - are back in the season of pinks and corals - if only, I still love myself a dark red lip. I don't wear it very often, but I love the vibe it sends into the world and the edginess it adds to a look. Not to forget that you can almost skip everthing else but foudation and mascara and look extremely put together. Enough excuses as to why I'm now reviewing this Color Sensational Matte by Maybelline in the shade Divine Wine, let's get to it.

Tell me this isn't a beautiful shade. A dark red, purple/blue toned red. It's a shade that suits anyone. Ofcourse you've got to want to wear it outside, but that's a whole other thing. I personally don't wear reds that much anymore - though I should - because I don't want to be too dramatic on just casual school days.

I did wear this on some special occasions - or just days that were filled with more leisurely activities. So yes, I have an opinion. Let's start out by discussing application. The swatch above is a one-swiper. So you can see it's very pigmented and smooth. Just a teeny bit of patchiness, but I can easily forgive that. On my lips it applied smooth and needed a minimal amount of coats (two) to get the correct opacity and it felt smooth as butter.

That's something I really liked about this lipstick. It's a matte, but doesn't parch out my lips, doesn't apply patchy. It's lasting power, however, has been a bit compromised to get that effect. Because it's more hydrating, it doesn't lock onto my lips as other matte lipstick. It's one of those lipsticks that do need to be re-applied after dinner and do look a bit silly when you don't. Good thing this formula allows you to easily build upon itself! And when I just wear it during the day and drink some water, the lipstick doesn't go anywhere. I do pair it up with a lipliner to assure the staying power and don't feel like I have to look into a mirror every five minutes.

This product deserves a thumbs up in my opinion. I like it because my lips felt good while being fabulous and because it didn't go everywhere. It's not the best when you talk about staying power, but when paired with a good lipliner and a casual re-application after dinner, you're good to go.

Who in this community hasn't heard of this wonder of makeup, of life and everything surrounding it? It's a 'myth' first seen, experienced and told by Nikkietutorials, who doesn't really need an introduction I guess - youtube makeup queen! - and has been hyped up so much I needed to try it out for myself. Well, I'm talking about the Nivea Men Sensitive Aftershave Balm.

Let me start out by saying that the only reason I waited this long to try this product out is because my skin is oily as hell. If hell would be oily. So the thought of putting something extra moisturising kind of scared me. But the fact that it's fitted for sensitive skin was a big plus. So I contemplated for a long time and finally got told to buy it by someone else. Hey, thank god for enablers!

Thank god indeed. I love this product so much. I started using this when winter was still in full force so my skin was a little dryer and it made my makeup look so perfect! Dewy, but not too much. My foundation/base also applied easier and my skin felt plump and healthy.

Now that it's warmer, I don't gravitate towards it as much, seeing that my skin is getting more oily once again, so I don't feel like I need it as much. When I do use it, I do notice it makes me a bit more oily a bit faster. So when you're skin is extremely oily, this may not be for you. It hasn't given me any breakouts though, so if you really want to, give it a go.

When you first apply it, it does smell like sexy men. I'm not bothered by that, but if you are, don't worry. The smell doesn't linger. It also feels very refreshing, so it's awesome to use in the morning while getting ready.

Another plus is that it's a big bottle and it's. Well. Affordable. It gets a thumbs up by me, especially when you've got a dry to combination skin type. This hype does do itself justice in my opinion.

Have you already tried this Aftershave Balm? Did it work out for you? And are there any more 'unconventional' beauty products I should absolutely try out?

Yassss! THE BOX! - as I like to call it - that was assembled by Anna and Lily, two über famous bloggers. This box contains their most raved over products that I - and probably so many other people - have wanted to try for the longest time. Well. This was my opportunity.
Ofcourse I haven't been able to test out anything from this box - except for the Stila Eyeliner, which I've used in the past - so I can't tell if these products will work for me as it did for them. I've got high expectations nonetheless!

First off, there's the Wet Brush, a brush that supposedly eliminates all the knots out of your hair and is better than the tangle teezer. I have to say I've been using the TT for a while now - and I love it - so if that's the case... Let's just say hair heaven is around the corner.

THE BOX! also contained an Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. I think this was the product I wanted the most. I should be the best makeup remover, while gently cleansing your skin... I'm really looking forward to using this babe. Why I why didn't I wear makeup today...

The Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist wasn't a product that was on my 'I seriously should buy this one day'-list, but I'm happy I'm able to try it out. I sometimes suffer from dry patches on my skin and this mist should give a fast resurge of moisture in your skin.

Another product I wasn't really on the lookout for is the Becca Backlight Priming Filter. But who knows I may just fall in love with it! Summer's almost here - apparently - so a little more radiance on the skin is certainly not a bad thing.

Talk about cult favourites. This Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil - what a name - has been raved about by every single beauty blogger/vlogger out there. OK, maybe that's a bit exaggerated, but it's been around the block.

Lastly, but certainly not least is the object that absolutely pushed me to buy THE BOX! is this Jade Facial Roller. I could not bring myself to buy it, but I wanted it so bad... I think I even had a couple of dreams about it. But I sure that this babe, combined with the Sleeping Oil, will help me relax so much.

Can you tell I'm crazy excited about this wee little box? Yes, I spent some good money on it, but when you look at it my way, you know it's a bargain.
Have you bought this box or already tried anything that's inside of it? Or is there anything you want to see reviewed badly?

Let's talk some more mascara. You know I'm addicted to the cheap kind you find in the drugtsture and does what it priomises you. At heart though, I love luxury. So I'd been eyeing up this beautiful and hyped up mascara for a while and when I was in Malaga (blog post here), I finally snatched it up to give it a go. Yes, I am talking about the Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced. High claims to live up to, right?

The first time I applied thie mascara, I was in awe. My lashes tripled it volume and doubled in length. I never used more than two coats because for me, in everyday life, that's enough drama and volume I'll ever need. It clumps just a tiny bit, but mainly on the lower part of you lashes and that enhances the idea of volume.
Again, I can't say a lot about how much it holds the curl, since my own lashes have a natural curl, but it dries up rather hard so I believe it will do it's job.
It's not a waterproof version (but there one coming seen I noticed while browsing their site!), so when you eyes water and you've applied it on you lower lashesh, well, it will run.
When talking about lower lash use, I'd say it's not too great. It's a but too much and a bit too clumpy and there are other mascaras I'd like to use in that area.

The wand itself is nice. Not too big, but certainly not too small. The bristles are short and not plastic. It's actually a really nice brush to use because it's a bit failproof. the only thing you have to remember to do - which is basic to me - is to wiggle with your wand at the roots of your leashes to prevent as much clumping as possible and not to push too high to prevent mascara on your upper lid. But you'll end with big, dollish, flawless lashes.

Yes, this product is pricier than other's I've used. But I sure do think it's worth it. I forgot how much exactly I pad for it, but on their site it's sold for $23.00. When you want to splurge and this product is available to you, just do it! Your lashes will thank you.

Have you tried this mascara before? Or is there another one you'd like for me to try - both high end or low end?

I'm coming to you with a small review of some limited edition goodies I bought from both Essence and Catrice, my two favourite drugstore - and most affordable - brands. Why last minute? Because it's almost no longer possible to buy these anymore. But, knowing Kruidvat in Belgium, it will probably be available longer than expected. They always seem to be a little bit behind - two to three weeks or so - with these limited edition collections. But enough chatting, let's get down to business.

First off, I'm going to talk about the Gradation Blush by Catrice I picked up from their Rough Luxury collection. It immediatly caught my eye with it's beautiful, geometric pattern and soft pink, shimmery shade.

When I first tried it out I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that this product is richly pigmented. I don't really pile a lot of blush on my cheecks because of my natural flush, so I just had to dip my brush in the pan, even tap of some of it and I ended up with a nice flush. It's not powdery and messy, but nice, smooth and buttery.

What makes this a complete bargain, is the fact that this Gradation Blush has, well, a gradation. Because of this, it's possible to end up with three shades out of one blush! I've swatched the upper side, lower side and then the two shades swirled together. Whatever mood you're in, wether it's bold or more subtle, this blush could be the answer.

I liked the shade where the two colours are combined best, but I've worn it the three ways and never was dissapointed.

The two products I picked up from Essence where the nail polish and lipgloss, both in the shade Roaring Red from the All That Greys collection. Safe to say it was the shade that made me go for it.
The nail polish was one I loved when I just applied it, but hated half an hour later. It's a pearly matte finish, which I really liked and the shade was just perfect. It was opaque with two coats as well. I was happy with these results. Just moments later though it started peeling off. and half an hour later I was left with nails that looked like I work in a kitchen as a dish washer. There was almost nothing left. That's why there's no swatch included. I might do a Nails Of The Night with it in the future so you can see the finish, but right now I don't see why I would do that because the lasting power is, well, it doesn't really exist.

The lipgloss is a lot better. Nicely pigmented, moisturising, beautiful shade and an easy, even application. After you drink or eat something or when it starts to wear off, there's still a slight stain left, so your lips still look juicy and full of life.
It has a sweet, almondy scent, but not too overpowering like some of their products can be - like the matte liquid lipsticks they used to have in the past. I like it for those days I want a bolder lip, but don't want a dry, matte formula.

That rounds up this quick, last minute review. Have you picked up any of these products? Did you love them or hate them? And if you like the look of it, don't wait too long because they might be gone really soon!

Let's once again talk about a brand that is getting some real good attention on my blog this past time. Yep, it's all about W7 and their affordable, yet great products - which include some subtle dupes. I've already reviewed their Absolute Lash Mascara and Hollywood Bronze & Glow - two products I absolutely love - so now it's time to talk about their setting spray: The Fixer Face Spray.

This product has got one claim: long lasting make-up fixer. So really I should be asking myself just one question, right? Does this product make my makeup last all day? But if I'd only answer that question this would be a very short and maybe not very helpfull review.

Well, I can tell you that the answer to that answer is yes. It does make my makeup last. Not only that though. It makes it look flawless, less cakey - I like to pile on the powder sometimes - and feels rather hydrating without making my face look greasy. I could say that everytime I use this I have a great skin day.

The product comes out as a fine mist and feels nice and refreshing on my face. So no big drops that can completely ruin your look. Always a winner in my book. I always use this product after I've applied my powders (face powder, bronzer, blush, highlight) and then give it a moment to set. It does feel slightly sticky at the start, but when the product has dried up, that's not noticable anymore.

One slight thing I don't like is the fact that it only contains 18ml. I'm going through this way too fast and the only place I can buy it is in The Netherlands (at op=op). I think that I'll stock up next time I'm there!

Let me start this one of with a question: Why is it so hot this winter? I'm a cold weather kinda gal and it makes me sad to be able to go outside with a light jacket and a scarf that doesn't suffocate me. Then I'd be able to say how much I need some extra moisture on my lips because the icy wind has just completely parched them and BAM. Good intro. If I were to talk about moisturising lipsticks. But we're stuck with an endless autumn so I guess I'll just talk to you about these Sheer & Shine lipsticks by Essence.

upper: (09) I Feel Pretty - lower: (03) BFF

I picked up two shades: (09) I Feel Pretty - a cherry kind of red - and (03) BFF - a pink with the most subtle of orange undertone. I have to say that I almost didn't pick up that second one because of the name. It made me cringe a bit.

These lipsticks have a slightly jelly texture. That, indeed, makes them sheer. At the same time they're really pigmented. It's like a layer of coloured gelatine on top on your lips, but in a good way. On top of that they leave a nice stain when the day goes on, so when you eat or drink your not left without colour on your lips.

One downfall is maybe that they're not as moisturising as I'd like them to be. Essence never claimed that though, so maybe that's just because of my high expectations after getting to know their pigmentation levels. And I actually do have dry lips that only ge saturated by the most effective of lip balms. They add a bit of moisture because they have such a sweet texture, but not up to the point that I can slap this on and be good.

The smell of this lipstick is sweet with a plastic twist. A bit chemically, you could say, but nothing strong enough to bother me.

I have to say, I'm more impressed than I'd like to admit by these lipsticks. I don't see myself reaching for them too often though, since I have a love for a more matte lip look, but on school days or just 'not a lot of makeup' days, I think I'll bust these out. Plus, they're very affordable. Do I even have to mention that anymore when I review anything by Essence?

Have you tried these lipsticks before? And has winter (or summer) arrived wherever you live? I sure hope it will pop it's head up here in Belgium.

If there's one product I review more than the others, I think I can say it's mascara. It's not just because I'm searching for the 'perfect one'. I like to try out different ones all the time to find out everything about every. single. mascara. It's one of the few products you have to change up a lot as well, so that gives me all the more reason to try out a different one each time.
I had to share this. Now let's get on with my review of the Glam & Doll Volume Mascara by Catrice.

Look at those lashes. Look at them! They're - in one word - perfect. And that's because of this mascara, my friends.

The formula is great. It lengthens and seperates your lashes and also provides some volume. It looks great on both top and bottom lashes and doesn't smudge very easily. It's not waterproof though, but there's a waterproof version if that's what you want. I tend not to because I think it's healthier for your lashes.

The brush of this mascara is a plastic one with tiny bristles. It comes out very clean - without a lot of excess product - so you can apply just the right amount on on your lashes. I was a bit sceptical when I first saw this brush, but now I have to admit it does work wonders. It grabs your lashes, seperates them whilst coating them with a nice layer of this magical mascara.

I guess I can say this is my favourite mascara at this pricepoint and beyond. So if you're looking for an affordable, great mascara I'd recommend this one. There are a lot others on the market though, so I'll be coming to you soon with more mascara reviews - promise.

I think it has been about two weeks ago that I visited a friend of mine who's currently studying in Malaga, but life got in the way in the form of a stomach flu and the tiredness that comes with it and stays with for way too long. Now I'm finally coming around to post some of the pictures I took when I was visiting this sunny country - can you believe I was walking around in a shirt over there?

My visit only lasted three days with only one full day, so my friend had to show me around quickly so that I got a good impression of the city she now loves. Here are some of the things I thought were worth being captured.

A wavey promenade next to the beach. Really impressive and beautiful when walking underneath it.

The beach itself. No, I didn't go swimming, but just because there wasn't enough time. I think it would have been hot enough for me to go splashing in that blue water.
My friend's favourite place to be; Wonka! An ice-cream place that's inspired by Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and has some good ice-cream flavours - which can easily be turned in some badass milkshades. I wasn't able to get a good impression of this place because of the lightning, but trust me when say it looked awesome and the milkshakes are great!

I think this small trip has left me wanting for more. I think I most certainly will visit Malaga again in the future - though never in summer. I don't think I can handle that much heat.

Have you ever visited Malaga? Is there a trip planned in your recent future you're really looking forward to?

These days, with all the snacking going on, I'd like to get some contour going to minimise the puffyness that's starting to get more and more noticable. So what better time than this to test out Maybelline's Master Sculpt duo.

I bought this palette in the shade Light because I'm rather pale and I have to say, these shades are perfect for my skintone. The contour shade is not too orange, deep or grey and the highlight just blend in perfectly with a fair skintone. I can see it could be a problem if your skin is more olive based seeing it's almost pure white, so that's something to keeep in mind.

It blends nicely and is not too pigmented, so you don't end up with a harsh line if you're not careful. And it's salvagable when you do go overboard. It also wears really nicely through the day and doesn't get patchy.

One remark I do have is that it's a bit powdery. I have to be a bit careful when I go at it with my brush because there's a lot of fall out. I wouldn't want it to spill all over my clothes. But when you keep that in mind whilst using it and tap into the product rather than swirl, this is really nice. I also like the fact that there's more contour powder than highlight. Let's be honest, how many of us use as much highlighter as contour powder? I think that if you'll ever run out of this product, it will be quite simultaneously.

So I definetely recommend this duo, especially because it's available for drugstore prices. But I think I'll delve into the even more affordable brands and their contour kits, too. Who knows there's a gem hidden there!

Urban Decay has made it's way to Belgium! Let's just take a moment to be amazed and shocked. I mean, Who knew their eye would fall on a small country like mine? It actually was available for quite some time already, but only online or in Brussels, which I don't visit too often. So when it arrived in Antwerp... Well, you can guess the end of that sentence. I didn't pick up too much and I sure wanted to buy more, but I restrained myself from it and kept it to two items.

I picked up - as you may have read in my last post - one of their Afterglow blushes in the shade Rapture. It's a beautiful mauvey pink blush with a slight shimmer that shows on the skin as a slight sheen - without specks of glitter.

It's extremely pigmented, so you do have to be a bit careful when applying it. There's a handy 'grid' in the lid though, so when you pick up a bit to much you can swirl your brush over it to lose some of it. it wears beautifully, doesn't get patchy and stays on until I'll take my makeup off in the evening. Which it should, for it's price (€28.80)

The other item I picked up is one of their Naked 24/7 Glide-on Double-ended Eye Pencils in the shade Naked 1 just because I wanted more for my money. This Pencil was €19.60, so the fact that it was 2 shades in one was really a bonus. I also wanted a brown eyepencil for a while. But enough of those excuses.

I really do like this pencil. It doesn't set right away so you can make it as intense or smudged out as you like, But afterwards it does set and doesn't really go anywhere. They also apply really smooth, so you don't get this 'draggy' feeling whilst application and they don't skip. One remark is that when I apply it on the upper waterline it does keep tranferring to the lower one and I'm not the biggest fan of that. But my waterlines are very... watery - who'd have guessed. On the other hand, it does stay in that waterline for the whole day. So that's a plus.

have you tried any Urban Decay products? I'm contemplating buying more - a lot more. Especially the lipstick that matches that beautiful blush.

Who can't believe autumn is almost over as well? It gives me some bittersweet feelings because it's really my favourite season, but at the same time winter is me second favourite. And it's extra cosy and accompanied by festivities. But for now, let's talk about the things I have been loving this month.

First off is yet another W7 product that is - indeed - also a dupe. It's the In The Mood palette, a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette - one of my all-time most used palettes (review here). But I'll be writing a comparison review in the future, so I won't tell you everything now! I just had to mention it because I have a rather busy schedule this month and it's such a breeze to use this!

Next up is this killer combination. I've had the Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup SPF 15 (review here) for a while, but didn't use it because it was just a little too dark for me, even though I got the lightest shade. So when I heard about these Lightening shade adjusting drops by The Body Shop I just had to buy them. And truly it's truly awesome. My skin looks flawless and it's a perfect match. Ofcourse, I have to test it for a little while longer before I write a full review on it, but you'll hear more of this new product!

Another product I yet have to review, but have to mention because I've been practically been using it every day. It's the Urban Decay Afterglow blush in the shade Rapture. The girl that worked there recommended this shade to me and I have to say, it's perfect for this time of the year! But again, I'll talk some more about this blush in a future post.

And last but certainly not least: an old, re-occuring favourite of mine. It's the - sadly limited edition - Pander Me matte lipstick by M.A.C. but it's accompanied by the Spice lipliner, which is a close, slightly more brownish match. And can be worn by itself! I just love the combination and staying power when the two are combined. Yes, it is slightly drying since it's a matte formula, but not too much if I can handle it! (review here)

A few weeks ago I first got aquinted with the brand W7 and their dupes. Yes, you read it correctly, this brand consists mainly out of dupes of great, hyped up and rather expensive makeup products. i already reviewed their Hollywood Bronze & Glow palette (link here) without anything to compare it to, but today will different! This Absolute Lashes Mascara is obviously trying to be a dupe for the Benefit They're Real Mascara I tried a while back and loved.

When comparing the brushes, I can say that they look almost identical. I don't have the They're Real anymore to do an in depth inspection, but I can say they're both plastic, pointy and have that special tip.

One thing that I noticed right from when I first started using this mascara is that it's a rather 'harsh' wand. The first few times - or whenever my eyes were a bit sensitive - it almost felt like I was stabbing my eyes a bit. But maybe that's because sometimes I'm a bit wild with my application. Still, this might be something to consider if you've got some sensitive eyes.

The formula is really nice. Giving length and volume, but without the pain of clumps. I especially like the look of this mascara on my lower lashes and guess what? It doesn't really smudge! The wear on the whole is great as well, without flaking or - like I said - smudging.
I feel that, if you compare these pictures with the ones of my They're Real review (link), you get a really similar result. One downside is that it dries out quickly. But since I bought it for €4 (at op=op in the Netherlands) and I am actually able to use it for a couple of months, I'm not too upset by that. It's even so that because it's drying out a bit, there's even less and less clumps.

I also want to tell my fellow belgian readers that it's not impossible to buy this brand here! I've discovered they sell it on bol.com! Not everything though - and ofcourse not this mascare - but it's a start!
It has been some time now since H&M launched their new beauty range and it got me all excited! I knew it was coming, but I didn't know when, how, or just the exact amount of products they would be releasing. So one day I just wandered into an H&M and was baffled by this beautiful new collection.

Triple Rasberry - Ginger Snap - Mesmerise Me

Let's start off with some of the eyeshadows I picked up. I got two metallic shades: Triple Rasberry - a, shocking, rasberry pink shade with some gold hints to it - and Ginger Snap - A beautiful gold. The third eyeshadow I decided on was the shade Mesmerise Me, which is a dark green with lighter green glitter in. I fell instantly in love with this shade, even though it's a rather dramatic one. But who am I kidding, I love some drama in my makeup sometimes.

These shadows are all just so soft, buttery and pigmented. It's a real pleasure to apply them. There's no fallout when working with them and they stay put all day. These shadows all get one big thumbs up from me. And though I heard some people say that they didn't like certain shades of these eyeshadows, I absolutely recommend these three at least. Maybe I'll try some more out in the future to expand my knowledge and therefore will be able to make some better recommendations.

Lush Lip Vinyl in Tuscan Dream

The second thing I picked up was the Lush Lip Vinyl in the shade Tuscan Dream - a neutral, slightly blue toned pink. As you can see by this swatch, these are some pigmented glosses.
The applicator is long and makes it a breeze to apply this product. The formula itself is a bit on the sticky side, which I don't really like. It's not too bad though.
It has a slight sugary smell, but that isn't noticable after you've put it on. So no worries there if you don't like scented lip products - or scented products in general.

The wear is alright. It's still a lip gloss kind of product and will wear off after eating something, but if you're just drinking water or something else, it will stay put for a decent amount of time. it also leaves you lips slightly stained, but I can't tell you that would be the case for all of the shades.

In short, I like their eyeshadows a lot and the lip vinyl a little. I would only - of these two - buy more of the eyeshadows. I am tempted to try out they velvet lip cream, but I'm a bit hesistant because my lips are rather dry lately.

have you tried anything from this new beauty range?

First of all I have to say that I was rather pleased with the tip of this eyeliner. It's long and stiff - yet not too stiff - and therefore makes it an enjoyable experience to put on your eyeliner - if it wasn't for the skipping. That's probably more of a formula issue though.

It's a good black shade that doesn't need to be topped off with extra layers to get as intense as I want it to be. Sadly, like I said before, it does skip a bit during application, but not a whole lot. Nothing that's irreversible or really bothering. You have to keep in mind that it's a very affordable eyeliner and these are just little flaws.

The thing that does bother me is that it isn't as waterproof as the Liquid Ink Eyeliner Waterproof. When I get watery eyes it does tend to get rubbed off a little, which isn't really cute. So, yes, it's easier to apply this one, but if you want one that's just a bit more reliable you'll have to go for the liquid ink one. If your eyes aren't very watery or you can keep them under control, then I suggest you try out this Eyeliner Pen. It's a lot more convenient to use, especially when you're just starting out with eyeliner.
October has passed and with that I have grown one year older once again! But that's not the only reason for October to be my absolute favourite month of the year. I mostly associate it with the true start of autumn and the beauty that comes with it. That all is just one big favourite. Beauty wise, I don't have that many favourites, but the ones that I have are absolutely worth it.
My beauty favourites will come as no surprise as you and include my two latest posts. I know, not very original, but I can't help it that I just fell in love with them. My biggest love out of the two is the W7 Hollywood Bronze & Glow (review). Whenever I wear this I feel flawless and I even get complimented about my skin. I believe that it's all thanks to this perfect bronzer.

My other babe this month is a mascara that finally delivers all that I ask for in a mascara. It's the Lash Sensational Mascara by Maybelline (review). Length, volume and allround awesomeness are just some of the things it provides. But don't think I'll quit my mascara mission now. I'm way too obsessed with it to do so.

My last favourite is a shower gel I picked up in The Netherlands. It's by the brand Treacle Moon - a brand I've never heard of before, but they sucked me in with the promise of a perfect apple pie scent while showering. I almost can't resist anything apple scented. And trust me, this scent is wonderfull. It's not your standard sour apple scent. When you lather yourself up you just smell like a perfect piece of freshly baked, buttery apple pie.
And it's not just good smelling, it leaves my skin feeling clean, yet soft. So if you're into these kind of scents like I am, I defenitely recommend you pick this up.

That was it for this month! What have you been loving?

You might be able to know what I'm about to say: I'm a mascara addict and I don't care. My forever search continues and somehow I still believe I'll stumble upon a great one that delivers everything I'm asking for. When a mascara is hyped up, I tend to stay away from it a little because I'm scared it won't be as good as I'm expecting it to be. But this is one hyped up mascara I couldn't stay from any longer. Especially when I saw it was on sale (some time ago) I had to pick up this Lash Sensational Mascara by Maybelline.

Let's first start with a brush discussion. It's slightly curved and on the hollow side the bristles are a lot shorter and closer to each other than on the other side. It's like they are huddling together because they're cold.

It's actually a really nice brush to apply your mascara with. My method? The first layer is applied using the short bristles - this way you get more volume at the roots and just a general layer of product. The second (and third and maybe more, depending on the mood) are applied using the longer bristles. They really provide some great length and more fluttery lashes (as you can see).

I really like the results I get with this babe. My lashes end up being long, fluttery and I practically end up looking like an innocent doe if I'd like to.

The staying power is actually really great. I never tend to go for a waterproof formula because I think it might be too harsh on my eyelashes, so when a non-waterproof formula stays on my lashes and doesn't smudge too bad when doing some (intense) exercises. The length doesn't really fade during the day as well.

Yep, this is one of the best mascara formulas I've tried out lately and I really recommend it to anyone! I actually think it is worth the hype.

When I first started really playing with makeup, I never thought I'd ever get a bronzer addiction. Probably because I didn't want to be part of the 'my-face-is-darker-than-my-body' club. But times have changed and my insights have grown and I love a bit of bronzing action now. Random introduction aside, there's one bronzer in the blogger/youtube community that has caught my eye and I really wanted to try out, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money: the Filmstar Bronze & Glow by Charlotte Tilbury. So when I spotted this o so subtle dupe by W7 (the Hollywood Bronze & Glow) I just had to try it out.

I don't think they could have made it any more obvious that you're dealing with a supposed dupe. Now, I haven't actually used the original, so I can't tell you if it actually does perform as well, but I can tell you my experiences with this beautiful (and affordable) product.

Let's just throw it out there; I think this is an awesome product. I apply the bronzer part with a fluffy blush brush underneath my cheeks, on my temples and forehead and also underneath my jaw, blending it into my neck. Like I said, I'm practically slapping it on my whole face. With another, more dense brush, I apple some of the highlighter on top of my cheecks and I have to say, the final product is beautiful. The first few times I used this little palette I was amazed at how flawless my skin was.

The wear of this little duo is also great. I haven't noticed it going away or going blotchy. It also doesn't emphasize my pores - which is always a risk when it comes to highlighter. Safe to say that this is a great, foolproof product. One days were I have limited time to do my makeup, this is the one product I gravitate towards. I barely even use any blush anymore!

Because of the great results I get with this product I want to buy the original Filmstar Bronze & Glow even more. Have you tried that one out? And do you think it's worth it's £49.00 pricetag?
