Sephora's cream lip stains

You all know I love a good matte lip. I still prefer it over a shimmery lipstick or a lipgloss everyday, even though my lips are suffering due to the medication I'm taking to fight my acne rosacea - which is actually doing a great job. I try to use the more hydrating (or no) lipsticks and even a gloss once in a while, but I'm a sinner. I can't resist a good matte lip once in a while, not even in summer. So how could I ever resist 'ordering' (read: asking my mother to bring them back from Italy for me) one of the most talked about matte lip stain of this moment? I couldn't. Meet the Cream Lip Stain by Sephora.

I 'picked up' the shades (13) Marvelous Mauve - a beautiful, cool mauve (who'd have guessed that) shade - and (09) Watermelon slice - an almost neon coral orangey red. The latter one is one that is out of my comfort zone, but sometimes I like to try out shades like that just to get used to them on my face.

Still, it's safe to say that Marvelous Mauve is my favourite out of the too and probably my favourite new shade of my whole collection. It's a great everyday shade - even for a pale girl like me - and it provides some edge to your makeup look since it's not your standard soft nude or pink.

Now, let's talk about how these lip stains perform. One word: good. They are very pigmented - one swipe is enough - and are easy to apply. They take some time to fully set, but once dry you can drink and eat some not too greasy foods without it going anywhere. Ofcourse if you're eating a full mean, some of the stain will be lost in the center of your lips, but not a lot. You can always re-apply ofcourse and you're good for the rest of the day. They don't transfer and are kiss-proof - they pass the hand-kiss test.

After a while, they do get drying on the lips - but that's coming from someone whose lips are dried out because of some medication and is getting a severe lip balm addiction. If your lips are fine, I bet they can handle this stain a lot better than mine.
