Another Eyeliner Review

Getting back on track with another eyeliner review! I've got a little bit of a (liquid) eyeliner obsession, so I really want to try out every single formula, applicator and brand available. One at a time, ofcourse. Now it's 2true's Effortless Waterproof Eyeliner's turn to be judged.

I got sent this babe a while back by Zoe (ZoetheDreamer) when we did our little swap and she said she absolutely loved it, so I had rather high expectations for it. I'm feeling rather guilty for what I'm about to say, but I don't think this eyeliner works as well for me as it does for her...

First off; the applicator. It's stiff, long and a bit big too. The good thing is that it's easy and quick to use, but I found it sometimes hard to get a precise application. When I was in the mood for a thinner line, I had to be very careful on days like that and in the end I usually ended up with a bigger line than I'd set it out to be.

The formula itself is nice. It applies black as the night, so no second layer is required. When we start talking about the way it wears I can tell you I'm a little bit dissapointed... On normal days it wears beautifully and stays on it's place like it's meant to be, but on days where I forgot my sunglasses, the sun burns my eyes and I end up tearing up, it ends up not being as waterproof as I hoped. Maybe I'm a bit demanding, but when a product claims to be waterproof, I expect it to stay in place no matter what.

In the end, you have to remember that some things just don't work the same for everyone. Even though Zoe loves this eyeliner, I didn't really... There are a lot of factors influencing the way a product works for someone, including skin type (I've got oilier eyelids) and the climate you live in.

Have you tried this liner? What are your experiences with it?

  1. I've never heard of this product (or even the brand!) - it's too bad it didn't work for you. It's nice when you and a friend can unite with one great product, and it looks so well pigmented! I get the feeling that it would not work for me, either, unfortunately (not that that matters, I'm sure I wouldn't be able to get my hands on it anyway). I also have oily lids!
