June Favourites 2015

My, my, I feel like I haven't blogged properly for ages! But with this month, my exams have come and passed and now I'm free again to do what I like - more or less ;)
So, time to get started again and what better way than to show you what I have been using again and again lately!

Let's start off with the true star of this month. I've often been rocking a nearly-no-to-none' makeup look this month - except when procrastination happened - so a natural lipstick had to be included in my favourites. The Joli Rouge Lipstick in the shade (705) Soft Berry by Clarins has been on my lips more often than not. I've practically been breathing it. It's an ultra moisturising lipstick with great pigmentation and staying power. Even when the shine has vanished you're left with a great 'my lips but better' stain on your lips. I've done a review on it in the past, so if you'd like to see swatches, check it out here.

Another product I've already written a post about (link) is a nail polish by China Glaze in the shade Smoke and Ashes. I know that this isn't your usual summer shade, but I'm not a pastel kind of girl. I rock the dark shades the whole year 'round. This polish is just so easy and quick to apply, stays put and makes my nails feel a bit stronger. Nothing but good things to say about it!

Complexion-wise, I've been putting two products on my face religiously. The Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush by Rimmel in the shade (010) Santa Rose is one of them. This is the most natural powder blush I've ever used. It's soft, blends easily and leaves you with a soft pinky-peachy sheen on your cheecks. There's a little bit of sparkle in it, so it doubles for some subtle highlighting action. If you can get your hands on this babe, just grab it. Don't think too long, just trust me. It's awesome.

I've also switched up my usual bronzer for a slightly more summery one: the Hoola Bronzer by Benefit. It's a cool toned bronzer, which is great for my complexion. Whenever I use this, I just look a bit more tanned and healthy than I usually do - not that I don't like the pale girl look, but in summer I might like to change things up a bit.

Have you tried any of these products? And what have you been loving in this first month of summer? Or winter, wherever you're from ;)

  1. I totally support the dark-nails all year round thing. I do like pastels, but I find darker shades look better on me, so I tend to go back and forth. The Rimmel blush looks great. It definitely looks like a good subtle blush, plus shimmer is always great!

I recently tried a mascara from Benefit, the They're Real one in a brown. My sister got it awhile ago in a birthday box ting from Sephora but doesn't use mascara much so I tried it out. Unfortunately I love it, haha. I'm typically more of a $9 mascara kind of person, rather than a $25 mascara. Oh well.

    1. I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one! I've tried lots of pastels but they also really don't tend to suit me and look a little bit 'off' on me...
And I love the they're real mascara! I got a sample of it a while back and it's gone now :( But I'm still refusing to buy one, so my quest for my perfect, yet affordable, mascara continues!
