April Favourites 2015

Yet another month has come and passed and I can tell you one thing; it's really hard to come up with an original intro for a post like this. I can tell you how hot it has been this month and how humidity has gotten to me as well a few days, but I won't bore you with all that. I know you're here for one thing and one thing only (or not): Makeup and beauty products that I've loved!

Let's get started by talking about the Catrice All Matt Plus - shine control make up. I know I just favourited another one last month, but that was before I started my acne treatment. Yep, I'm taking pills to fight my extreme oiliness and rosacea. Now, this comes with a whole lot changes on my face and my previous favourite foundation just didn't sit right on my skin. I'm in the 'purge' phase now, so an oil-combating foundation looked just right. And it was. Together with some other product that I'm featuring this month to combat the dry patches, this is a match made in heaven.
If you want to know more about this babe, here's a link to my review.

Ofcourse, because it's a 'clinging to dry patches' kind of foundation, I needed something to prevent those from happening. I got this tester of the Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream and in a whim, and probably to my dermatologist's disapproval, I slathered it on my cheecks.
Bam! Instant hydration!
It looks pretty, it smells nice and it makes the medication-induced dryness disappear!

Going on about this treatment - I had to relearn a lot of things this month, okay? - let's talk about lipbalm! Be gone, matte lipstick formulas, enter the ultra moisturising lip formulas! I have to admit, it pains me to not wear mattes, but it's just not possible. I have to slather up my lips with some heavy duty Cicaplast levres by La Roche Posay during the nights (but I've also used it during the day because my lips NEED it) and my trusty old jar of Carmex during the day - all day everyday! Together, they keep my lips conditioned and looking somewhat presentable.

Next up is one of my all time favourite palettes. The Nude 'Tude palette by theBalm. It's wonderfull. It contains every shade a simple girl like me could need, including a beautiful dark plummy, purple shade, called sexy. I've got so many good things to say about this one, but if you're interested, I might do a review on it in the future. I've been grabbing for this one a lot this month.

Last but certainly not least I present to you another tester of Benefit: That Gal brightening face primer. I never dared to use a brightening primer before, but now I'm a convert. My skin looks - almost - flawless with this babe on my face and my foundation stays on my face a lot longer. I don't think I can ever stray from this again, so  please tell me your recommendations for a great dupe so I don't have to spend the money to make myself happy again after this runs out.

One last favourite I have to mention is the swap I did with Zoe. We had some difficulties, but in the end everything got sorted out and I couldn't be happier with the result! Read all about it here if you haven't already.

Off to a new month now! I'm scared that it will be sunny and warm and I'll get sunburn... Can you tell I'm not a summer person?
